Ok, it's been a while since the last post and this one is only number 11 but I'm in the mood for an overhaul. Hopefully it'll give me some motivation to keep on top of things and add posts more frequently than every nine months.

My plan is to keep them short and simple but fun for all... sort of like Beetlejuice.

Stay tuned for an official launch date. In the meantime follow me on Twitter.

Sharkwater is a Must See Documentary

I have to admit that I’m a big pussy when it comes to the ocean. The thought of wide open water with no sign of land freaks me out. And sharks, well don’t get me started on these beasts of terror with their razor sharp teeth ripping and tearing at human flesh leaving nothing left but a limbless body.

At least that’s what I thought about sharks yesterday but today I have a whole different perception of these “beasts of terror”. You see, I watched the documentary Sharkwater last night and found it to be an amazingly insightful film which debunks the stereotypes many of us associated with sharks. In fact, it turns out that it’s the sharks who are being finned and left to suffer a slow, painful death. Who would have thought I’d feel so sorry for these monstrous creatures?

I don’t want to give anything away so I’ll just say that this movie is more than just a shark documentary and I highly recommend you watch it. Filmmaker Rob Stewart and his crew do an amazing job with every aspect of the film. You can check out the trailers and clips at Sharkwater.com.

If you get a chance to see it let me know what you think.

First off, Happy New Year!! Hope you had a good one and are all ready for some 2009 resolution breaking.

I recently submitted an illustration I did a few years ago to Threadless.com and asked everyone to vote for it. Thanks to all of you who did. As far as I know I don't think it has been accepted to be printed and sold via their site. That being said, I'd like to know if anyone would be interested in the shirt should I have it printed myself. Have a look at the full shirt design at Threadless and let me know if it's something you'd buy or not you. If I get enough positive feedback I'll look into having it printed along with some other t-shirts I've designed.

I just wanted to let you know that I've submitted a t-shirt design to Threadless.com and now need you to vote in order to guarantee it makes it to print. The design is titled "People Eater" and if I get enough high scores the shirt will be printed and sold from the site. Every vote counts and the voting ends on Dec. 30 so be sure to sign up, vote and tell your friends.

Vote here and vote 5 (please).

Thanks and have a Happy Holidays!!

With Christmas just around the corner why not get into the festive spirit with some past Pearl Jam Christmas singles on the ol' sound system. As much as we all love traditional holiday music it's sometime nice to mix it up and rip it up with some rockin' (and some a little less rockin') tunes. They've even got a few "actual" Christmas songs for your listening pleasure.

So check out all the Christmas singles at gremmie.net. Just select "christmas singles" from the b-sides drop-down menu. Thanks goof and gremmie.

Not so much "we" but more so Jeff Hammond and Ashleigh Harrington. They took the Toronto Urban Film Festival TUFF Choice Award for their short film Running on Empty.
See that guy on the right confidently strutting through the frame? That's me.

Ok, so maybe my car makes more appearances in Jeff Hammond's latest short film Running on Empty but at least I made it second on the "starring" list (which happens to be in order of appearance).

This short production by Hammond Cheeze Films was entered into the Toronto Urban Film Festival and is up for a TUFF Choice Award so be sure to check it out and VOTE for Running On Empty.

Take a listen to Elliott Brood on CBC.ca

Thanks to the crew at CBC.ca you can check out the Elliott Brood performance from the 25th annual Hillside Festival. If you've never heard the band before, here's your chance.

Quote from CBC.ca:
"Elliott Brood have attracted praise from both fans and critics with their raw and energetic live shows. They've crossed Canada over seven times and have completed three European tours. His first album earned them a Juno nomination. As well, "Ambassador" won the Brood a Galaxy Rising Start award for Best New Artist in 2006."

"With the release of their new record, "Mountain Meadows", Elliott Brood continues to explore dark themes while lighting the way with their sunny banjo, guitar and ukulele sound."

Check out their original sound On Demand.

That's right whiskey-eyed friends, this is my new site. Can you dig it? I know you can. You can dig it like a tractor.

Just so you know, this won't be a normal, boring blog. Instead, I intend to fill it with bacon bits and tasty Score pie. (On a side note: Mitch enjoys Score pie immensely.) At first you might not believe me but soon you will find that this site is filled with candy floss and calamari.

Well, more to come I guess.
